This reminds me of what a jw relative recently said. She was looking through family pictures with her daughter on her iPad, when her daughter asked, "mom will we have our iPads in the new system?" Without missing a beat she said, "of course we will!!" I think many jw's think paradise will be like life today except they won't have to go to work, pay bills, and deal with non-witnesses. Other than that they'll still go to Costco, shop at target and vacation at the beach.

Back in the Basement
by LostGeneration inlooks like the faithful jws are back in the basement, the oct 15th wt has this image on page 9. but now the lights have been turned out!
i guess the persecution is really kicking in if the electric company has shut off their electricity, or the jws are really, really paranoid that the government is gonna get them if they have the lights on!.
only one guy is smart enough to use his tablet (far right), the rest of the jws are old school, using a lantern to read their bibles in the dark!

The mrs. and I will be taking a trip across the pond to visit Europe. London, France and Spain. My first time, so looking forward to seeing all the sights. Hopefully I'll come across some English speaking jw with their carts and I can give them a good "witness" -

Is it necessary to prepare for the Watchtower or book study?
by BashfulAshG inall of my years in the truth, i never understood why we had to study before each meeting.
the contents are self-explanatory with the answers to the printed question within the first or the last sentence of the paragraph.
then, commenting never made sense, especially comments and experiences that don't answer the printed question.

Change to dress and grooming rules for JWs in USA soon?
by RayPublisher inmy guy with the lurk account on jwtalk (where all the kool-aid drinking jws go to talk about how wonderful 'the twoof' is) sent me some more interesting threads, here's one:.
spoiler: starting new the new service year september.
"there will be new directives from the branch through the circuit overseer on dress and grooming that will disqualify one to be a congregation publisher.

I can see maybe adopting more rules on acceptable dress while out in field service. What I can't see is them saying...brothers if we see you wearing skinny jeans while at the mall, you'll be removed as a publisher! That's not going to happen. What I see this as being is more of a crack down on what people wear in service and to the meetings. Search some of the jw related hashtags on Twitter or Instagram and you'll see tons of kids posting meeting or service selfies, maybe HQ is seeing to much "questionable" dress and grooming in these selfies. I'm never surprised when I hear corporate is making a new rule about something or other. -

We have one elder in his late 30's..the rest are 55+ within the last few years though they've been appointing every guy over 25 who gets 10+ "visible" hours in service, regular meeting attendance and comments to be a ms. I think 3 or 4 have been appointed in the last year, it's pretty easy to see which ones are gunning to be an elder now...kinda scary to think of guys I grew up with running the show in 10 years. Yikes! -

I only have one social media account, and that's Twitter. If you want to see some crazy jw stuff go on there and starting searching some of the jw related hashtags they use. The one thing I've been using it for is finding out who the guys are at bethel, that are behind and running the jw dot org website. They are all into tech/web design related things and a lot of them are on Twitter. The one thing I Can really take from their Twitter feeds is, when they leave Brooklyn, these guys are going to be hating life. Most of their posts are about how cool life in the city is. Very very rarely do you get anything God related in their tweets. -

Very nice! May broadcast asking for money, can you give more???...now send a letter to elders suggesting maybe the congregation can review what they're sending into HQ, maybe possibly now that the r&f have been softened up by lett, they might be guilted into giving more. Nice strategy. -
